You may recall a project being underway last year to review and update practitioner guidance for the antenatal and newborn screening programmes:

Antenatal screening for Down syndrome and other conditions: Guidelines for health practitioners

Guidelines for practitioners providing services within the Newborn Metabolic Screening Programme in New Zealand

Attached are the latest draft versions of each guideline, and it would be great to have some feedback from you on how they are looking now.

The formatting has changed quite a bit, as has the structure and flow of the guidelines. We have added some new sections in, including Chapter 3. Te Ao M?ori ? if you can read through this section in particular that would be very appreciated!

There is a lot of similarity between the guidelines through the introductory chapters, until it starts getting into detail about the screening itself.

The Equity and Te Tiriti o Waitangi sections are written by Te Whatu Ora and used in other maternity guidelines produced by them, so we don?t have the ability to change them, but the glossary, te ao M?ori, and language sections are able to be edited/changed if needed.
