Kia ora,
Cascading for interest to see if we have any M?ori Midwives of interest to participate in this small project work being conducted by ACC.
Purpose:
- Identifying opportunities for partnering with M?ori on a small project starting on 1st March 2026 ending on 30th April 2026, to produce an insights report on Neonatal Encephalopathy (NE) using PMMRC data, for our NE Injury Prevention Programme (2017-2022) Evaluation. The partner ideally has clinical and/or public health expertise.
Project scope & objectives:
- Once Sapere have the data and a draft list of measures to calculate, M?ori authority / perspectives guide Sapere on what?s important to explore within the scope of this data.
- Once results are available in draft, M?ori authority / perspectives review the draft report and advise Sapere on what is evident in the data, and revisions needed. Input into the commentary, which may include recommendations for further work.
Background and context :
- This work is in scope of the workplan the National Quality Forum Maternity Sub-group is steering.
- Attached is a past report by the PMMRC to show the type of report Sapere is aiming to co-produce by 30 April 2026 for the final NE programme evaluation due to be completed on June 30th 2026.
- The NE Injury Prevention Programme (2017-2022) was a joint initiative with former District Health Boards under a Memorandum of Understanding to work together to reduce serious adverse events (ACC, HQSC, Manat? Hauora and HDC, 2014). The learnings will guide future direction, including on improving escalations of care a maternity quality and safety priorities (NQF, Dec 2023).
