Kia Ora!
I?m reaching out to reconnect and share an opportunity to support m?m? and wh?nau in South Auckland through P? Harakeke at Te Kaha o Te Rangatahi
We know pregnancy and early parenthood can bring a range of challenges, and sometimes m?m? need a little extra support beyond their usual maternity care. This might be practical support to get to appointments, help understanding entitlements and accessing services, support with mental wellbeing or advocacy, or simply having someone to walk alongside them during this time.
P? Harakeke offers non-clinical, relationship-based support for m?m? and wh?nau during pregnancy and early parenthood.
Our primary focus is on teen parents and Rangatahi m?m? and wh?nau, particularly M?ori and Pasifika families who may be experiencing barriers or need additional support. But we also still welcome expressions of interest from other m?m? and wh?nau who may benefit from our support
Our support can include:
We recognize that every m?m? and wh?nau has different circumstances, strengths and aspirations. Our approach is to build a relationship, understand what matters to them and work alongside them to identify the support that would be most helpful.
If you have m?m?/Whanau in your care who you think may benefit, we would love you to share our Expression of Interest link with them:
The form will ask for a few basic details so I can make contact, have an initial k?rero and explore what support they may need. M?m? can express interest themselves, so they have the opportunity to decide whether they would like to connect with us.
We?d also really appreciate you keeping P? Harakeke in mind when working with m?m? who may benefit from additional support, whether that?s one-to-one navigation, practical assistance, connection with other parents or our upcoming w?nanga and group opportunities.
Our intention is to compliment the mahi you already do and help build a stronger village of support around m?m?, p?pi and wh?nau.
Please feel free to get in touch if you?d like to k?rero further, learn more about the programme or explore how we can work together to make connections easier for the m?m? you support.
Ng? mihi nui,
Jasmine Davis
