CASELOADING MIDWIFE OPPORTUNITIES

We are looking for two experienced midwifes to join our Caseloading team providing 24hour midwifery cover to support hapu mama (pregnant mother) and whanau (family) throughout their Haputanga (pregnancy). Our team is committed to innovative, high-quality care that empowers and supports all women and their families, providing sensitive, culturally safe skilled midwifery care.

1 x Permanent 0.8 FTE position working 32 hours per week on a 24/7 rotating roster.

1 x Casual position to support peak demands and leave cover, with hours as agreed.

Recent clinical experience in midwifery practice

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

A commitment to providing high quality patient and wh?nau-centered care

Ability to work effectively in a team of Midwives and GPO

Adaptable and willing to assist in area within the Woman and Child Health Services

Commitment to ?The Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding? and ?Baby Friendly? hospital initiative

Demonstrated commitment to Ante-natal education.

Current New Zealand Registration and Annual Practicing Certificate Midwifery Certificate and a Full Drivers License are required

Certificates in advanced study or adult education i.e., breastfeeding or neonatal intensive care would be an advantage

Applicants need to be able to pass a police background and safety check.
