PSANZ is seeking Aotearoa New Zealand representation on the 2027 PSANZ Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the Darwin Congress, and we are inviting expressions of interest from Ng? M?ia members.
Below is further information to help guide your decision:
- The LOC currently meets approximately once every four weeks via Microsoft Teams. As programme planning begins, this may temporarily increase to fortnightly meetings for a month or two while speakers, topics, and key components are confirmed.
- Attendance at every meeting is not required. Previously, some members have attended every second or third meeting due to workload and other commitments. CORP COMM, the PSANZ Secretariat, provides minutes after each meeting so that those unable to attend can remain informed and contribute feedback as needed.
- PSANZ is specifically seeking M?ori representation to support planning, programming, and speaker involvement, ensuring the Congress reflects appropriate perspectives, relationships, and engagement with Aotearoa. Your input may take various forms, such as reviewing meeting minutes, offering comments on discussion items, or providing advice on the draft programme. Any level of contribution would be greatly appreciated.
- Although there is no formal Terms of Reference for the LOC, job role descriptions are available to help clarify the types of tasks involved in Congress planning.
- Only in the initial stages of forming the Local Organising Committee for 2027 so a draft program isn?t yet available as this is put together by the LOC with Speaker recommendations and including our Subcommittees. However, you can view the 2026 information via the event website here. You can view the PSANZ Society Website here.
- Please also know that if you choose to participate, you may withdraw at any time should your workload or circumstances change.
If you are interested in putting your name forward, please apply in writing to Ng? M?ia by Friday 28th November 2025 - email admin@ngamaiatrust.org with PSANZ 2027 in the subject line.
