Are you interested in guiding the next chapter of Home Birth Aotearoa?
Home Birth Aotearoa is seeking five to eight trustees who are passionate about home birth and committed to inclusive, Tiriti-honouring governance. We are also looking specifically for people who can step into leadership roles as the tangata whenua and tangata tiriti co-chairs of the Trust.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and particularly encourage interest from home birth consumers, midwives, w?hine M?ori, people from across the motu, and those with lived experience of diverse communities. Diverse lived experiences will help reflect how home birth and maternity services are experienced across different communities and regions.
The current interim trust was established as a temporary body, primarily to run elections to appoint a new culturally safe, high functioning, and transparent permanent board to take over the important work of HBA. A thorough handover and ongoing support has been planned.
Applications are open until the 1st of March 2026.
